Father's Day & Great Grandma Pat's birthday

Father's Day was a busy day. We typically have a family reunion for Matt's Mom's side of the family on Father's Day weekend. Since his Grandpa passed away we have kept the same weekend for all family to get together. We went to church & then headed out to the Fairwinds retirement center for a BBQ lunch with family. We all had a good time. When it was over, we came home and Matt's Mom & Dad came to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening with us. I didn't get to see my Dad on this father's Day, but my brother was with him fishing. It typically works out that we spend Mother's Day with my family & Father's Day with Matt's family. It works well for all families involved.

The girls gave Matt his Father's Day gifts on Saturday night as we knew Sunday was going to be a crazy day & we wanted to enjoy our time together too. I took the girls to polk.a.dot pottery & they painted a coffee cup for Matt. That is a great little business if I do say so myself. The girls loved decorating the mug for Matt. Before he opened it, he looked at the bag & put it in his lap...he looked at the girls & said what do you think thiiiisss is?? JaCee Yells out!!! A COFFEE CUP! It was a cute moment. Matt also got a T. Shirt from Red JaCket Firearms I ordered him. (A gun show he LOVES to watch). And JaCee's preschool made a neat little gift for Dad's before her last day of school. It was a black & white picture of both of her hands ... and over the hands it says My Daddy is the best! Hands Down! And it was framed. Adorable. He is very sentimental about the gifts the girls make him. No matter how good or cheap...they are up in his "man room".  I didn't take any pictures from Matt opening his gifts, but here are some pictures form the family get together.
