JaCee's last day of gymnastics

We started Gymnastics last summer and I had no idea it would turn out to be so much fun & that we would end up doing it for an entire year. I have made friends with some great gals. We are all taking the summer off, but hopefully we'll all get together for play dates with the kids. The kids put on a performance for us today as the last horahh!!! It was so cute. They showed off everything they have learned in class this year....I took as many pictures as I could, but the lighting in this gym is not good. Or I should say is not good for whatever setting I have on my camera. I did try changing the mode's around....anyway....

Her favorite thing at gymnastics...the trampoline....

Father's Day & Great Grandma Pat's birthday

Father's Day was a busy day. We typically have a family reunion for Matt's Mom's side of the family on Father's Day weekend. Since his Grandpa passed away we have kept the same weekend for all family to get together. We went to church & then headed out to the Fairwinds retirement center for a BBQ lunch with family. We all had a good time. When it was over, we came home and Matt's Mom & Dad came to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening with us. I didn't get to see my Dad on this father's Day, but my brother was with him fishing. It typically works out that we spend Mother's Day with my family & Father's Day with Matt's family. It works well for all families involved.

The girls gave Matt his Father's Day gifts on Saturday night as we knew Sunday was going to be a crazy day & we wanted to enjoy our time together too. I took the girls to polk.a.dot pottery & they painted a coffee cup for Matt. That is a great little business if I do say so myself. The girls loved decorating the mug for Matt. Before he opened it, he looked at the bag & put it in his lap...he looked at the girls & said what do you think thiiiisss is?? JaCee Yells out!!! A COFFEE CUP! It was a cute moment. Matt also got a T. Shirt from Red JaCket Firearms I ordered him. (A gun show he LOVES to watch). And JaCee's preschool made a neat little gift for Dad's before her last day of school. It was a black & white picture of both of her hands ... and over the hands it says My Daddy is the best! Hands Down! And it was framed. Adorable. He is very sentimental about the gifts the girls make him. No matter how good or cheap...they are up in his "man room".  I didn't take any pictures from Matt opening his gifts, but here are some pictures form the family get together.

Great Grandma Pat turns 87 this week so we celebrated her birthday too!

Swim Lessons

For the Month of June, JaCee is doing her 1st swim lessons ever. She loves it! And she NEEDS it. She's not fond of the water. I should change that. She loves the water. She does NOT like the water on her face. In ANY way ... shape ... or form. She has made some good progress. They are learning to do backfloats, swim using a kick board, blowing bubbles (which is where is get's interesting for her since her face has to go in the water). Her 1st lesson the teacher showed her how to blow bubbles & said you do it now JaCee. JaCee flat out said NO. She didn't want her face in the water. Needless to say we promptly got in the bathtub and practiced blowing bubbles. She will do it now and is doing great ---- learning all the peices of swimming. She will tell you her favorite part of lessons is at the very end the teacher let's them get out of the water & jump to her in the deep end.

Taking a deep breath of anticipation before getting in the water for her 1st lesson

Air Show

JaCee is REALLY into airplanes right now. Like really really...Like I have to stop doing whatever I am doing if an airplane flies over our house low enough that she thinks I need to come see with her. It's pretty cute, so I oblige. A few weeks ago we had a big special B12 bomber, that flew in the WWII (I think) come to our local airport. So I kept Morgen home for nap time & Matt took JaCee to see all the airplanes. She LOVED it.

She's NOT crying, although it looks like it...Matt said it was REALLY loud & windy though.

Memorial weekend

Matt had 5 day's off for the long holiday weekend so we had some nice family time. We didn't go anywhere special or make ONE single plan. We just created a big to do list for around the house & figured whatever got done, got done but we were going to spend some nice time together. It seems like as soon as summer comes, your weekends come & go so fast, so we tried to get ready for the summer as much as we can. The boat came out of storage, I steam cleaned the carpets, Matt built a wall in our basement to create an extra room, etc. We took the girls on a surprise adventure one day...I packed a lunch & we headed downtown to feed the ducks, go on the carousel, feed the garbage goat, ride the radio flyer and enjoy the roaring Spokane River. It was a lot of fun!

JaCee's last day of preschool

I can't believe how FAST that went! It seems like I was just getting nervous for her preschool day's....wondering how she would do...if she would make friends, have fun, etc. She loved it and did great. Next year she will go to the same school for 3 day's instead of 2. Someone asked me why I was putting her in preschool for 2 years in a row. It's no secret that JaCee has always had a very extreme connection to me. Not that  I don't love my baby girl wanting to be around me all the time, but ---- I didn't want it to affect her personality and become a long term issue. So last summer I decided to put her gymnastics 1 day a week and preschool 2 day's a week. I will say it was one of the most helpful things I did. She loves going to both of them & it has helped her attachment to me a ton. She used to not let go of my hand and get so scared in new situations, every single time we did something new. Now ---- on most day's she will go with her friends and know that she is OK.

Here is JaCee on her 1st and last day of school!

Her little flower in the pot said, "thank you for growing me!" And grown she has...about 4 inches!

On her last day of school, they had an all school picnic (that ended up being in the gym due to the weather)

Not the greatest family picture...but the only one we got.
