JaCee had her 4 year check.up last week. It went great. She weight's in at a whopping 37lbs. Her weight is in the 70th percentile and her height is in the 90th. She is growing good & checked out great. The saddest part was the vaccinations. She asked me all day if she was going to have to get a shot. I told her I didn't know, because I really wasn't sure...and she would get such a sad face & say, but I don't want one mom. I wish I could have gotten one for her. She did end up needing 3 shots, but we only allow 2 "pokes" per visit, so we'll go back at another time for her one more before her kindergarten registration. (did I really just type that??)
She is still the light of our eyes. Every day she makes us smile & laugh & is still the best big sister I could have ever hoped for. There are day's when Morgen is so ornery to JaCee, I think if I were her....I would push her down or something a 4 year old would do, but JaCee doesn't. She is so patient with her little sister. Some of the things I hear her saying to Morgen:
After Morgen has fallen down --- "Morgen, don't cry --- your tuff. There's no blood. Let's go swing.
After Morgen has hit/pushed JaCee --- "Morgen! Do we do that??? Well, do we? NO! We don't! We don't hit and push! How would you like it it if I did that to you?
You still LOOOOVVVEE your babies. You "lost" your favorite baby Lacey (she was in the dress up tub when we finally found her) so you decided your next baby of choice was my cabbage patch doll I gave to you. Her name is Bobbi Jo & she fits in real new born clothes so I think that was the best part for you....dressing her up.
You love to change your outfits 100 times a day. It drives me crazy.
Your nap time was getting pretty short for a while there & I was afraid the dreaded day of no nap was coming soon --- but as soon as the weather got warmer and you have been outside playing with Morgen, your nap times just went back to the normal 2 hours. You go to bed about 830 or 9pm and get up about 730am. Nap at from 1-3.
(why did I change the tense this post was written in?)
Here you are all dressed up for picture day at school.

Easter
Easter for us this year was not a one day event...it was a weekend event! The weather was great & the girls are getting to an age of understanding how to find the eggs! Sunday night as I was putting JaCee to bed, she said, "Mom...what holiday comes next?" OK. I think my daughter is getting this holiday fun thing. (I told her the next holiday is mommy's birthday & make sure you tell daddy that tomorrow!)
Saturday our church had an Easter egg hunt and fun stuff for kids to do. A Petting Zoo, jumpy house, games galore, etc. We took the girls to the hunt 1st. In one word. CRAZY. And this mom almost went crazy on the parent's who were pushing their kids and older siblings in front of us! I will confess I put a few eggs in Morgen's basket because I was getting concerned she wouldn't get any. She did manage to SLOWLY pick up a few amidst watching the chaos of other parent's & older siblings going absolutely crazy.
After the egg hunt for Morgen, I knew I could not handle another egg hunt for JaCee or I would honestly go crazy on a parent...so we shared some of Morgen's egg's with JaCee & headed off the bounce house & games.
After a couple hours of fun at church...we went home to lay Morgen down for a nap, clean up eat an early dinner & then headed back to church for Saturday evening service. After church, we stopped by some friends house to drop off Easter basket's I had made for their two kids, and then we all went to yogurt for dessert.
Sunday morning...JaCee was in our bedroom nice & early trying to convince us to get out of bed & see if the Easter Bunny had made a stop at our house. After opening the Easter basket's from us, we headed outside for an Easter egg hunt....then got ready & headed to Edwall for family dinner. It was a long weekend, but a lot of fun.

A new Car...a new era...
I have mixed emotions about this life changing event! We sold our car & bought a mini.van. Oh my gosh, did I just say that? I did! We bought the min van about a month ago, and just sold my car last week. I was so sad to see my car go. I bought that car with full intentions of raising our family in it. And we could have if we wanted to, but a mini van seemed more practical for carpooling, etc. As it drove off I thought about bringing the girls him from the hospital in it...thinking about the day's of pulling over on the side of the road to calm JaCee down from screaming when she was a colicky baby. I have a lot of memories in that car, and I was sad to see it go. It does make the transition a little easier since I am IN LOVE WITH my mini.van. And the girl that bought it lives just down the street, so I see it go buy all the time...and if JaCee sees it go buy ---- she screams! Mom ~ there goes our car!
Long hair ... to short hair
Morgen's 1st pig.tails that I could get ALL her hair fit in.
And today ---- JaCee went from hair this long....
And today ---- JaCee went from hair this long....
It might not look too different in the pictures but she got about 4 inches cut off. Her hair was almost to the middle of her back & I got it cut in a bob...with a little bit of a stack in the back. It looks ADORABLE! Course I think she would look cute no matter what!
Easter Egg hunt with Great Grandma Pat
Our weather has been NON.Stop raining. Yes, we live in the pacific northwest where we are "suppose" to get a lot of rain in the spring, but we broke a March record for SO much rain. So Sad! I am ready for some sunshine & fun outside.
Last Saturday we went to an Easter Egg hunt at Great Gma (Matt's Grandma) Pat's retirement home. We were suppose to do it outside, but due to the above mentioned ---- RAIN --- it was inside.
The girls so much fun. JaCee loved seeing the Easter Bunny. She asked him if he would "hop" for her and sadly....he said, "NO!" What kind of Easter bunny says no? (the kind that was probably sweating inside his costume)

Happy 4th birthday JaCee
We had a Strawberry Shortcake party for JaCee's Birthday celebration this year. We had it a couple of weeks ahead of her actual birthday since most of my family is already in town for the big horn show...it made sense to do the party on the same weekend. (Your welcome Dad!) It was a great little party!
I keep seeing these puff balls on pintrest so I decided to try them & I really like how they turned out. |
Outside in line waiting to play strawberry toss |

Spring is on the way?
Where did February go? Matt said to me the other day...you haven't updated your blog for a while. Well...yes, you are right. So apparently February went by so fast....
Here's a re:cap of the month. (in no particular order. same for pictures)
Early February we celebrated a joint birthday part with Matt & his brother in law, Rod. At Monica and Rod's house. The girls always have so much fun playing with the cousins.
We went to Sandpoint to meet my parent's for some lunch and shopping. Since my mom and dad couldn't come to Morgen's birthday party in January, we decided it was time for a quick visit and lunch. Mom and Dad gave Morgen her birthday presents was a nice day for a nice drive.
We got some snow. Ugh! But, the girls love when it snow...that means play time outside with Daddy & they get HOT chocolate when they come inside.
I joined/started getting a bountiful basket this month. It's awesome! Fresh produce for the week for a small fee. I've done 3 basket's so far & I have loved every one of them. Until we get our garden going...hopefully in a few months, we'll order this yummy produce.
We bought a new Mini.Van. Ha. I am a mini.van mom now. I love it already. I have been trying to convince Matt why we need one for a while now...but it took me some time. We bought one last weekend.
I broke a tooth off. And had to have a crown done. That was a week ago & my tooth is still throbbing. It broke so low they had to laser off part of my gums and that is what is hurting so bad still. Ugh. I can't even say how much I hate the dentist!
Both girls have colds again. I think every little kid I am around has a cough or cold. Morgen's is getting better & is almost gone...JaCee's isn't. I'm hoping it doesn't go into another ear infection.
**Either January or February or both ---- both girls had an ear infection. 2 weeks apart. Morgen's was hardest because she couldn't tell me what was wrong. But luckily JaCee is old enough now, she said - mom --- my ear hurts. They both went on anti.biotics. Both hate it. And both will only take it if I put hershey's syrup with the medicine.
I registered JaCee for Pre.School again next year. I had a sad moment last week, laying in bed ---- remembering Matt & I discussing JaCee going to kindergarten, what school, would I be home or not...and remember us saying 5 years is a long way's away. We have time to figure all this out. Now ---- I year from last Monday I will be in line with the other Mom's registering her for Kindergarten. They aren't kidding when they say time goes fast ----- but I can't be more grateful that I am home with the girls! Time does go so fast, but I am here for every minute of it. I know a lot of my friends do not have that option.
I put our portable heater in our garage for a few hours one day, then bucketed out warm water from inside to fill up the pool and let the girls put on their swimsuits and play. They LOVED it!
My parent's came to visit for the weekend, about mid - February. Mom and I shopped, a lot. They guys were great ---- and watched the kids most of the time.
Valentines day was a couple day's after mom & dad left. Matt and my dad brought home Mom & I roses the weekend they were here. Since Matt & I have dated, we BBQ salmon and have asparagus, and a special dessert for Valentines Day. I did get the girls Valentines Day basket's and a "Fort" you buy to set up and decorate. My mom got both girls matching V.day shirts. They looked so cute and I have no clue why I did not take one single picture for Valentines Day. Ugh.
So that is all I can remember about February. We are a week into March, and the sun is shinning and we've had some really nice day's so far. My daffodils are up & think it's totally spring. I can't wait for things to start blooming!
