Happy Mother's Day~

My parent's came into town to celebrate my birthday & Mother's Day. Saturday we went out to Matt's sister's house and the guys shot clay pigeons and the girls visited. We BBQ'd dinner & celebrated both holiday's for the families. Sunday we got up & opened Mother's Day gifts, then it was off to good ole Lowe's for a much needed house project shopping trip. We came home and had an early dinner with my family before they headed back to Montana. It was a great weekend. The weather was good and everything went as planned.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

These flowers are a week old....I should have taken a picture right away, but JaCee's preschool class made them for me. JaCee said she picked what flowers she thought I would like. She came running out of her class yelling Happy Mother's Day Mommy. But the best was the night before...she kept saying, Mom--- I have a surprise for you tomorrow at school but my teacher said I can't tell you...but I am going to make you some flowers....very cute!

My birthday present from my brother in law & sister in law...doesn't look like much....but it is EXACTLY what I wanted....

Because I turned it into this!!!! I took it apart and painted it, etc. I LOVE IT~!

All the kids (except baby Lacy) at the farm...

Baby Dedication

Matt & I decided to participate in a baby dedication ceremony for the girls, put on my our church Valley Real Life. Dedications are a touchy subject, depending on your religious beliefs. For us, it was about Matt & I publicly committing to raise our girls to love the Lord in a Christian home with Christian beliefs. We had some homework, (I.E., video's to watch & discuss) and we will write down on a 3x5 card what we want the girls to look like in their walk with Jesus when they are 18. If you think about parenting from that angle...it's like your parenting backwards. This parenting stuff is hard work, but...the biggest take away I had from one video was a mom saying, "Don't let business become a parenting style." That really hit home for me. I think anyone can relate to that. I am trying to slow down and take advantage of the small moment's in life to shape my little girls who I want them to be instead of trying to carve out minutes of my day to fit in the lessons.

We were lucky to have both sets of grandparents and Matt's sister, her husband and their kids attend the ceremony to support us in our process.

The girls were adorable in their princess dresses. Here are some pictures from the day.

Not impressed....
