With mixed emotions...that's how I always feel going to check-up appointments. Excited to see how much she's grown, etc. But sad knowing she'll get a vaccination. She did great at the appt. Our Dr. was surprised how many teeth she has. (8 total --- 4 on both top & bottom). Marla she's growing great...she weighs 22lbs 14oz and is 30.25 inches long. That's the 75th percentile for both. (Where she's been all along). I looked back at JaCee's 1 year appt. She weighed 18lbs 13oz & was 30 inches long. Morgen seem SOO much taller to me than JaCee was.
In other happening of Morgen's world....she's wearing 18 & 24 month clothes. She wears a size 5 shoe. This is wear I'm struggling with her...Most shoes in her size are SO heavy. They seem to be for 2 year olds. Poor Morgen, I put on the shoes & she falls down & pulls at her shoes & cries to me like MOM ... these are TOO heavy. I do have one little pair of Ugg like boots that are light & doesn't make her fall. She's sleeping through the night consistently --- finally. She naps 2 times a day. Usually wakes up about 8am & goes to bed about 8pm. She is still getting one bottle before she goes to bed, but she eats what we eat for all the other meals. She's turned into a great little eater. I was worried there for a month or two...she wasn't wanting to feed herself ... then she decided she was going to throw fits during meal times...but now, she waits patiently to eat & eats good. She loves veggies...peas & beans especially. She had asparagus for the 1st time last night & loved it. Fruit is a little harder....she'll eat grapes, oranges & bananas, but nothing else. She does NOT like apples/cantaloupe or pineapple. x
She spends her day's chasing/playing with JaCee. They love to roar & growl at each other, play peak-a-boo...anything to make each other laugh. It's the best noise ever! Morgen is such a happy baby compared to what JaCee was. She smiles all.the.time! Only cries if she's tired. (Or JaCee is bugging her). She loves.loves.loves....bath time. Loves the water. She is trying to talk...we hear a lot of BA & DA. Not sure what either of them really mean...She says BOO - when we play peak a boo. She is really good at pointing at what she wants & grunting. She started to come get my hand & take me to what she wants this week. Also this weekend...she just figured out if she falls down, she doesn't have to crawl to furniture to stand up...she can stand up on her own in the middle of the floor. It all depends how fast she's trying to get somewhere though. She claps for herself, waves bye-bye, finally will kiss me if I ask for one...if I say I love you, she will blow me a kiss. She holds her hand's up to me if she wants to be picked up. (I can't tell you much I love this) JaCee would NEVER reach for me. I remember standing at her crib trying to show her how to put her arms up to reach for me, and she never did it....if Morgen really wants me, she reaches for me & opens & closes her hands if to say come get me. It melts my heart.
On the ugly stuff...she is a temper tantrum thrower. We'll see where this one goes. She is still climbing on everything she can. She now climbs up on JaCee's bed, climbs the stairs from the basement to upstairs, tries to climb the shelves in the refrigerator. I was talking to her Dr today & said this worries me, she's trying to climb on everything. Marla said when kids are climber's --- it's like an innate drive they have...a compulsion to look for things --- to climb on. I can see it with her. If she stands next to something...one of her legs is lifting in the air, trying to catch it on something that could enable her to climb.
As you can see...the ugly list is SHORT. I am Sooo thankful to have such a great baby. Marla said today, can you believe it's been a year. I said No...I can't. I remember with JaCee thinking the 1st year will never end...but when you have such a good baby, I can't believe it's over. Although I am looking forward to less messes in the high chair to clean up...
