JaCee update...

This week we didn't have much going on,  so I took the girls to the library yesterday for the toddler/story time & activity session. They read stories, do a little shake and dance & then the kids get to play with a bunch of activities (blocks/bowling/puzzles,games, etc.) There was quite a few people there...probably 40 or so mom's with corresponding babies. It's Free--- and something different for the girls --- and they get to interact with other kids. As one mom said to me on the way down in the elevator --- anything to get the kids out of the house right now. TRUE. So true. The weather was actually nice enough to go on a couple of walks this week too. This morning we went to the mall. As we were walking in ---- JaCee said, "mom --- is this our exercise?" I said yup --- it is! =) It was fun. I got a little shopping in & the girls got to go on some rides. Morgen could care less I think, but JaCee likes looking forward to what we are doing. Last night as I put her to bed, she said what are we doing after I go to sleep. (meaning tomorrow). I said maybe the mall. I try to find something fun for her to do every day ... She is getting to be such a big girl. Her talking & thoughts are so put together....today we went into a store that was playing some exceptionally LOUD music. We walked in & she said, "this sounds like church!" I was laughing because sometimes we let her come in with us to worship before she goes to her Sunday school class. So to her the music in worship time was as loud as the music in the store....and later JaCee had given Morgen a red Jelly-bean when I wasn't looking and when I saw her...she had red juice All.Over! I cleaned her up & asked JaCee to not give her any more jelly beans...she said to me, OK Mom. Because Mo-gun looks like a dis-aster! Ha~ Yes, she did!

This weekend is Matt's 40th birthday party with his family...and today is my little brother's birthday! I know he doesn't read this blog --- but Happy Birthday Ryan!!!

Here are a few pictures of JaCee. I feel like I've written a lot about Morgen lately...so JaCee was due for an update!

Does the HUGE SMILE on Morgen's face tell you anything? She LOVES the rides~

Morgen's 1 year check-up

With mixed emotions...that's how I always feel going to check-up appointments. Excited to see how much she's grown, etc. But sad knowing she'll get a vaccination. She did great at the appt. Our Dr. was surprised how many teeth she has. (8 total --- 4 on both top & bottom). Marla she's growing great...she weighs 22lbs 14oz and is 30.25 inches long. That's the 75th percentile for both. (Where she's been all along). I looked back at JaCee's 1 year appt. She weighed 18lbs 13oz & was 30 inches long. Morgen seem SOO much taller to me than JaCee was.

In other happening of Morgen's world....she's wearing 18 & 24 month clothes. She wears a size 5 shoe. This is wear I'm struggling with her...Most shoes in her size are SO heavy. They seem to be for 2 year olds. Poor Morgen, I put on the shoes & she falls down & pulls at her shoes & cries to me like MOM ... these are TOO heavy. I do have one little pair of Ugg like boots that are light & doesn't make her fall. She's sleeping through the night consistently --- finally. She naps 2 times a day. Usually wakes up about 8am & goes to bed about 8pm. She is still getting one bottle before she goes to bed, but she eats what we eat for all the other meals. She's turned into a great little eater. I was worried there for a month or two...she wasn't wanting to feed herself ... then she decided she was going to throw fits during meal times...but now, she waits patiently to eat & eats good. She loves veggies...peas & beans especially. She had asparagus for the 1st time last night & loved it. Fruit is a little harder....she'll eat grapes, oranges & bananas, but nothing else. She does NOT like apples/cantaloupe or pineapple. x

She spends her day's chasing/playing with JaCee. They love to roar & growl at each other, play peak-a-boo...anything to make each other laugh. It's the best noise ever! Morgen is such a happy baby compared to what JaCee was. She smiles all.the.time! Only cries if she's tired. (Or JaCee is bugging her).  She loves.loves.loves....bath time. Loves the water. She is trying to talk...we hear a lot of BA & DA. Not sure what either of them really mean...She says BOO - when we play peak a boo. She is really good at pointing at what she wants & grunting. She started to come get my hand & take me to what she wants this week. Also this weekend...she just figured out if she falls down, she doesn't have to crawl to furniture to stand up...she can stand up on her own in the middle of the floor. It all depends how fast she's trying to get somewhere though. She claps for herself, waves bye-bye, finally will kiss me if I ask for one...if I say I love you, she will blow me a kiss. She holds her hand's up to me if she wants to be picked up. (I can't tell you much I love this) JaCee would NEVER reach for me. I remember standing at her crib trying to show her how to put her arms up to reach for me, and she never did it....if Morgen really wants me, she reaches for me & opens & closes her hands if to say come get me. It melts my heart.

On the ugly stuff...she is a temper tantrum thrower. We'll see where this one goes. She is still climbing on everything she can. She now climbs up on JaCee's bed, climbs the stairs from the basement to upstairs, tries to climb the shelves in the refrigerator. I was talking to her Dr today & said this worries me, she's trying to climb on everything. Marla said when kids are climber's --- it's like an innate drive they have...a compulsion to look for things --- to climb on. I can see it with her. If she stands next to something...one of her legs is lifting in the air, trying to catch it on something that could enable her to climb.

As you can see...the ugly list is SHORT. I am Sooo thankful to have such a great baby. Marla said today, can you believe it's been a year. I said No...I can't. I remember with JaCee thinking the 1st year will never end...but when you have such a good baby, I can't believe it's over. Although I am looking forward to less messes in the high chair to clean up...

Happy 1st Birthday Morgen

It's a Winter ONE~derland~!

That was the theme for Morgen's birthday party. Complete with snowflake decorations...snowflake suckers, snowflake cookie's, snowflake cupcake's...and what winter birthday party would be complete without a hot chocolate bar. It was a fun little party. Just family --- grandparent's, aunt's and uncle's, nieces & nephews and some good friends of ours. Morgen did great. She was a bit overwhelmed by everyone in her house at first...she stuck pretty close to mom & grandma's. After a while, she enjoyed playing on the ground with all the other kids. We kept the party short and after everyone left, the family & grandparents went to Red Lobster for dinner. Yummm....

The happenings...

It's funny how things for me seem to happen in groups. I feel like I go for a couple of weeks with nothing big going on to share...and then BOOM --- lots going on. In the next week...Matt turns the big 4.0! Morgen turns one this weekend and my brother's birthday is also in the mix. Since we'll have family in town this weekend for Morgen's party...my brother & Matt will also have mini - celebrations since we won't see each other for another month. Since it was Matt's big year...I didn't want his birthday to get lost in the shuffle with Morgen's ---- he is going to have a bunch of small birthday parties! =)  Last weekend he celebrated with all his buddies at work. He typically has Tuesday's off...so I had a fun day of surprises planned for him. We got a babysitter & had our 1st couples massage...and we ended the night at the OLD Spaghetti factory with a few of his oldest buddies. He had NO clue ---- which was the best part because he is SOO hard to surprise! And then next weekend we will celebrate his birthday with his family.

Here is a picture from dinner ~

I have spent the past few day's making cookies & things for Morgen's birthday party this weekend. My Mom & Dad will be town along with my brother & his girlfriend.

Morgen has another cold. Yuck. I feel like her other cold did go away completely...and now we're on to another one. I guess this is the time of year. The beauty is she is sleeping really well....as in THROUGH the night! It's about time!!! Middle of last week, I told Matt we just needed to do sleep training that weekend. I think Morgen heard that conversation because she slept through the night the next 2 nights! By the next night ---- she fussed for a few minutes & has slept through the night ever since. Yay for solid sleep. Next is getting rid of JaCee's binkie.

Here are Morgen's professional pictures from her 1 year photo shoot. They turned out really cute, I think!

Welcome 2011

What's new in 2011 so far?

We have A LOT of snow! And it's COLD outside.

Morgen has a COLD! Her 1st real cold. She had a stuffy nose a while back, but this is a full blown cold. I don't feel bad though ---- by the time JaCee was 11.5 months old, she had 13 ear infections. Literally. So 1 cold in almost 1 year, is not bad in my book.

We found out on New Year's Day, the girls are getting another cousin in June. Matt's sister is pregnant with her 6th baby.

Morgen has her 1 year pictures tomorrow. With a cold. =( And freezing rain in the forecast...we'll see what tomorrow brings.

We had our 1st trip of 2011 to Chuck E. Cheese this week. JaCee did so good. She mad a little friend (a boy) while playing, cried when we left because she didn't want to leave her friend....and she wanted to go in the air tubes ALL BY HERSELF! We are making Chuck E Cheese progress!

Here are a few pictures from 1st week of the new year...

New Year's Day, Matt took JaCee on the sled behind the 4-wheeler...and ALL the kids on the block appeared!

JaCee & her friends in the air tubes!
