Long week ... and it's only Wednsday

It's only Wednesday & this seems like it should be Friday. It's been a looonngg week for some reason. On Monday it was nice out so I took JaCee & Morgen to Manito Park to feed the ducks. The trip was very fun...despite the fact I forgot my camera, and Morgen was VERY fussy (more on that later) and I had been talking to JaCee about feeding the ducks for 2 day's --- and unfortunately, you can't feed the ducks at Manito anymore. After reading the signs I do remember seeing something on the news about it a while back. Oh well, we made light of the situation & JaCee still had a great time. We walked around the water, saw the ducks & geese & there was a pelican on the water that day, & turtles in the water. Then we went to play on the playground...JaCee met 2 little friends to go on the slide with, then we took a walk to the tulip garden...it was all very fun. It's something we'll be doing a lot this summer.

Back to Morgen being cranky....I think she has/had a little bug or something. Poor thing is not known to refuse a bottle no matter the time of day, but I can't get her to eat much Monday & Tuesday...she seems to be a tad bit better today. We'll see. She mostly wants to sleep & be held.

Here is a picture of JaCee dressing herself to go outside...hat on backwards, Apron, ONE glove on, at least she got her shoes on the right feet this time!

And playing in her sisters Jump-a-roo! She LOVES it & can't get out herself, so it's my own personal coral for her!

Here's the only picture I have of Morgen for the week...passed out in her jump-a-roo!
JaCee found my old glasses! HA~

We'll see what the rest of the week brings!

We have a ROLLER!

Okay, well maybe that is a slight exaggeration! She isn't exactly rolling all over the house ... yet anyway. But at 5am this morning, she was fussing and I knew it was time for a bottle...so I went to her room ... and she was laying on her STOMACH in her crib. Since I put her on her back at 1am ---- that means she rolled over! Her first time. She has been trying for all she's worth the past week to roll over. It makes me laugh watching her try sooo hard. So we knew it was only a matter of time...
I looked at JaCee's baby book to see when she rolled over for the 1st time & she did it at 11 weeks. JaCee seemed extremely early for us & the pediatrician...and the problem was JaCee loved to sleep on her stomach. So the Dr said try to roll her back over on her back when you find her sleeping on her tummy. Uhhmmm...ya, right. With the nightmare JaCee was...when she was asleep --- stomach or not, I wasn't going to touch her. I don't think Morgen is going to be the tummy sleeper JaCee was, but we'll see.

Morgen also got to go in her Jump-a-roo for the 1st time this week. She loved it. She absolutely loves licking her hands. This is how she self soothes...anyway, this toy allows her full access to her hands w/out much work. Pretty cute if you ask me!

I had to go through the tub of bigger size clothes for Morgen after Matt made a comment that Morgen looked like a Sumo-wrestler in her most of her onsie's. Just pulling out bigger onsie's turned into a full wardrobe change. I found this outfit and had to take a picture in it because I have one of JaCee in the same thing... and I love it! Can you tell who is who?

Morgen is the top one...in case the cheeks didn't give it away! Morgen is just 3 months in this outfit & JaCee was 5 months in the same outfit. Morgen is getting so long. She's in 6-9 month clothes right now.

JaCee is getting older & smarter. She can almost say full sentences now...usually just missing an adjective, but she's mimicking everything I do to Morgen, with her babies. It's soo adorable to watch. My favorite time is watching her play with her babies when she doesn't know I'm watching her --- seeing her "shhh-ing" her baby to sleep or saying "Oh hunny...it's ok, here is your binkie" (the same things I say to Morgen). Here is a glimpse of what my day's are filled with:

Grandma Shelley made JaCee a cute apron to help mommy with while cooking. Saturday morning JaCee asked me to put it on her. So I did...then she got her baby & this was the outcome! Apron turned baby Bjorn! She smiled & was so proud of herself & said, "like mommy!"
That is her favorite baby. It's my old cabbage patch I had when I was little. I've saved it all these years for my daughter.

Craft time ~

and Tummy time with Morgen~This week looks like rain most of the week so I'll have to get busy with crafts & baking to keep JaCee busy!

A taste of Summer....

Today I am reminded of how much I LOVE summer! After JaCee got done taking a 4 hour nap (yes- 4 hours... a result of a busy weekend & 2 early wake up day's) she came out of her room with her aqua sox & swimsuit on saying, "I go my poo after my naapp..." I bucketed out warm water for her pool & she played for a while ... It felt like the lazy day's of summer were here. Unfortunately, by Wednesday it's suppose to be rainy & in the 50's again!

Here are some pictures I tried to take of the girls together in their new suite's!

Oh no....

Ahh...much better....

Morgen with her cute new cover-up on...

And after all the trauma of pictures Morgen was tuckered out...this is her favorite spot ... in her bouncy seat with a blanket snuggled around & her binkie! Moments later she fell asleep...

Weekend of fun in the SUN!

What a beautiful weekend. We spent as much time as possible outside soaking it up. Working, none the less, but at least it wasn't in the rain. We got our garden ready to plant & actually by Sunday evening I have put a few "goodies" in the ground that won't be harmed any possible future frosts! We also got some much needed yard work done. Sunday we got up bright & early & joined other thousands of supporters for the Race for the Cure. The weather couldn't have been better for the event!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

On Friday --- Morgen was 12 weeks old! She doesn't care for her Bumbo much, but after using it with JaCee & knowing how much I will love her in it --- I am trying to put her in it a few times a day for a few minutes. I also try to tell her how much this will be her best friend in the next few months & how Mommy "NEEDS" her to enjoy this seat...I think it might be working as I did get a smile from her in it!

Here is a picture of me with my girls...I don't have one of just the 3 of us yet!

Between yard work & gardening, we did start soccer lessons with JaCee!

Our view at the start of Race for the cure! Wow!

Tomorrow is suppose to be almost 80 degree's ... so I think I'll put the girls in their new swimsuits for the 1st time this year....

Eye Appointment update

Well, the good news is ... there is nothing "unusual" about JaCee's eye's. The Dr said kids just do the darnedest things ... and she is tracking normal & the refraction in her eye's looks good. Poor thing though, cried when they dilated her eyes. The Dr said they could stay dilated until tomorrow morning. Oh boy, I hope not...it's so nice & sunny out, there is no way I can keep her inside & out of the sun this afternoon. The Dr did give her some special dark sunglasses to wear today & so I hope I can keep them on her for a while at least. She is currently napping (both girls are actually). The Dr said she might want to sleep a lot today as they get frustrated they can't see things very well & think that means they are sleepy. (How cute is that?)
I better go take advantage of this quiet time!

I will leave you with a picture of the cutest chubby baby!

Picture Day!~

This picture should say it all!!!! Yes --- the camera lady really DID use her good film to take a picture of my daughter crying where her picture was suppose to be taken! Let me back up to our entrance...I'm holding Morgen who is crying...pushing the stroller, dragging JaCee who is clinging to my leg with NO intention of letting go! The lady says ok, what is your game plan? She actually looked at Morgen & said, does she need to eat. (I almost said do you see her cheeks? Does it look like I starve her?) No --- she is not hungry & does not have a messy diaper...tired it is!

Anyway, I won't bore any more details...we did manage to get a few good pictures. Well, by good I mean tearless pictures!

Our next photo shoot...hmm...Another year for JaCee, that's for sure. I'll do Morgen's every 3 months like I did with JaCee. At least babies are photogenic until they figure out they have a choice NOT to smile if they don't want too!

I can't believe how much Morgen looks like JaCee did at 3 months! Here was JaCee at her 3 month photo shoot.

Morgen's so cute these day's...smiling SOO much at me. Every time I talk to her, she smiles...and in the morning when I go pick her up from her crib, she smiles & stretches....I love that part!!! She's spending more & more time awake, which is good...but then again she expects me to entertain her when she's bored too. We're getting ready to start teaching her fall asleep at night on her own...she does it during the day, but we've been helping her fall asleep at night. Once she's asleep for the night, she's a GREAT sleeper...getting up just one time for a quick fill up of the tank & she's back asleep.

JaCee's doing good...Dad's home from work today, so she is having fun out in the yard following him around. (Rain & All...) We went grandma & grandpa's on the farm this weekend & she had SOO much fun with her cousins! It was adorable to watch her following them around! She's getting so big, but compared to them, she is still so small!

Tomorrow is a day of rest at home. We've had a busy few day's so we'll rest tomorrow & then Thursday is JaCee's eye specialist appointment. They told me they will be dilating her eyes. Poor thing...I HATE my eye's getting dilated, so I hope she does ok with it....and then this weekend is the SUSAN B KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE! This will be JaCee's 2nd year of doing the walk~

Keep us in your thoughts her eye appt goes well & she just has a bad habit. I'll post again when we know more...

Easter & JaCee's 1st trip away from home

A week ago today, JaCee spent her 1st day"s" away from mom & dad. Other than the night Morgen was born, she has not stayed without mom & dad. Grandma & Grandpa on the river wanted to keep her for a few day's to give me a break & be able to spend alone time with Morgen. The trip went well. JaCee did good for grandma, went to bed good & took good naps. On Saturday, we made our way over the mountain to get our little munchkin. It was nice having peace & quite...although I did miss her the most in the evenings...missing out bath & bedtime routine. We spent Easter having an Easter egg hunt, eating lunch & traveling back over the mountain. Below is a picture of JaCee at Grandma's house.

Morgen is doing good...she's getting big. At her 2 month appointment she weighed 12.2lbs. She's currently wearing 3-6 month size clothes. She's still a good sleeper. She would sleep straight through our day's if we would let her. She gets up once or twice at night to eat, depending on what time her last feeding was & what time she falls asleep.

Here is Morgen on Easter, waiting for her bath...

She really can smile now!

Playing on the floor one afternoon.

At JaCee's 2 month appointment, we were referred to 2 different specialist. One for her eyes, and the other is Shriners Hospital for surgery on her thumbs. The tendons in her thumbs are too short, so she can't extend her thumbs all the way. We will see what the eye Dr says about her eyes. If she is concentrating on something you say, she turns her head slightly to her right. We will see if it's habit or something more.

JaCee is adjusting very well to Morgen now. She loves to show her everything she does. Today she showed Morgen the book I was going to read to her. She also loves to put Morgen's "binkie" in her mouth the minute Morgen makes a noise. Or she runs to me & says "Mo-gun's fussing Mom" ... I love watching them together & I can't wait until Morgen is old enough to play with JaCee. Morgen knows her sister's voice & when she is awake, you can see her looking for JaCee in the room ... once she finds her she will watch what she's doing...I would love to know what she's thinking. Ha!

Next on the docket --- our 1st professional photo shoot on Monday! I am keeping low expectations as JaCee is in a phase of not wanting her pictures taken & you are of course at the mercy of an 11 week olds mood for the day. I'll post the pictures when I get them in.

Here's a picture of the girls together:
